Committee Goals
- Insure availability of affordable, high quality, high-speed telecommunications services readily available throughout the state of Arizona. Remove barriers and develop market-driven strategies to encourage private-sector expansion of telecommunications infrastructure. Where no market-driven solution can be found, identify ways in which communities and the state can "fill-in" the gaps.
- Define voice, video and data applications that ride over the infrastructure that will link the Arizona community and support education, economic and community development.
- Define strategies to Bridge The Digital Divide.
- Assist local communities in development and implementation of technology infrastructure strategies and initiatives.
Committee Guidelines
- The strategic plan should focus on the needs and the desired services of the end-user within the State of Arizona, not just on the type of technology deployment.
- How the accessibility towards/for these services is offered is secondary as long as accessibility is present. (VSAT, Copper, Fiber,.).
- The strategic plan offers a 'framework' to be used by all the different Arizona entities in order to create a visionary plan for the global Arizona IT & Telecom infrastructure and services.
- The creation of the strategic plan should be viewed as a tool in order to invite all Arizona end-users to participate in formulating and defining their views, desires, and objectives towards services to be offered, services needed and all related IT and Telecom technology.
- Complementary to the other ATIC work committees, Cyber Security
