ATIC Special Public Meeting on Broadband Deployment Legislation in Arizona
Phoenix- January 27, 2004
The Arizona Telecommunications & Information Council (ATIC) has announced a Special Public Information Meeting on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 from 8:30 - 10:30 AM. The public is invited to attend this important meeting, "Recommendations and Legislation to Promote Broadband Deployment in Arizona," to be video conferenced live between Phoenix and Tucson locations as well as enabled for remote participation via audio and web conferencing. ATIC's Strategic Planning and Government Affairs Committees are drafting plans and legislation to promote broadband deployment throughout the state including:
This meeting will particularly focus on the legislation to implement the Broadband Development Authority that will provide incentives and low cost, long term financing to encourage private sector development of redundant, middle mile and last mile telecom solutions in the state. The purpose of this meeting is: 1) to engage all interested parties, 2) to ensure that they are informed about the content of the proposed recommendations and legislation; 3) to seek their comments and support.
The public is invited to attend and provide input and comments regarding the proposed Broadband Development Authority. ATIC programs continue to highlight the best of Arizona telecommunications and technology initiatives and engage the issues head-on. Attendance is free and open to all.
