ATIC Public Meeting on Arizona High-technology Policy Activities
(February 17, 2011)
The ATIC Public Meeting on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 2-4PM was our 8th Annual Arizona Technology & Telecom Policy Review. Governor Brewer had just called the Legislature into Special Session for the consideration of a comprehensive plan to put Arizona back to work known as the Arizona Competitiveness Package. Moderated by Mark Goldstein, ATIC Secretary and President, International Research Center, the event featured a number of notable speakers who laid out the Arizona, national, and international situation and outlook for technology in the year to come including:
Steve Zylstra, President & CEO of the Arizona Technology Council on Arizona's advances in various tech sectors, as well as the Tech Council's policy initiatives, plans for stimulating tech growth, and helping members survive and thrive
Sandra Watson, Chief Operating Officer of the Arizona Commerce Authority on the Arizona Dept. of Commerce transitioning into the new quasi-public state Authority to help Arizona become more competitive in attracting corporations and a better place to collaborate and grow, while diversifying the overall state economy (Presentation)
Dr. William Harris, President and CEO of Science Foundation Arizona on SFAz's successes as a lean and effective catalyst bringing together businesses and researchers to generate tangible economic benefits for Arizonans and helping build a 21st Century work force through STEM education initiatives (Presentation)

ATIC Public Meeting on Advanced Technologies and Visions for the Future

The ATIC Public Meeting on Thursday, May 19, 2011 was our annual Advanced Technologies & Visions for the Future, at The Carnegie Center in downtown Phoenix and remote via teleconferencing. ATIC Public Meeting on Telehealth and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

The
3rd Annual ATIC Public Meeting on Telehealth and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) was held in partnership with the
Arizona Telemedicine Program (ATP) and the
Arizona BioIndustry Association (AZBio) on
Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 11:30 AM-2:30 PM at the
T-Health Institute located on the
University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix Campus. We had about 130 attendees onsite and another 20 or so participating remotely. Stellar speakers from industry and government presented on current health information technology efforts in Arizona and beyond with timely telehealth and EMR topics and a focus on sustainable business models. A number of telehealth vendors and related organizations were on hand to demonstrate the latest telehealth and EMR technology and resources along with tours of UA's world class facilities.
