Wireless Internet Institute (W2i) Digital Cities Convention Tempe
(February 13-14, 2007)

The Wireless Internet Institute (W2i) in cooperation with ATIC brought their Digital Cities Convention to Tempe, AZ on February 13-14. Citywide broadband wireless networks and applications are an effective way for local governments to manage their community and spur economic development. A full ecosystem of technology providers, application vendors, systems integrators, consultants, and service providers has emerged to service this market. The W2i Digital Cities Conventions bring together industry leaders and local government decisions makers. This thought-leadership conference placed special emphasis on primary deployment drivers, applications, technology roadmaps, partnership opportunities, funding and business models.

 

ATIC Public Meeting on Arizona High-Technology Policy Activities
(February 15, 2007)

The ATIC Public Meeting held on Thursday, February 15 focused on all the high-technology policy activities underway in Arizona with a distinguished array of invited speakers moderated by Mark Goldstein, President, International Research Center and ATIC Secretary. Our most popular program, now in its fourth year, was held from 2:00-4:00 PM as a free live event and teleconference from the offices of Lewis & Roca in downtown Phoenix with remote audio conferencing courtesy of Cox Business Services.

ATIC/GCIT CIAC Telecom Summit and Online Pre-Sessions

The Arizona Telecom Summit was held on Thursday, May 17 to provide a forum for high level decision makers to reach consensus on policies and strategies to remove barriers to the deployment of affordable broadband Internet and advanced telecommunications services to underserved Arizona communities. Participants included federal, state, local, tribal and private sector leaders, as well as telecom service providers. The full day event in Mesa was presented by ATIC in cooperation with the Communications Infrastructure Advisory Committee (CIAC) of the Governor's Council on Innovation and Technology (GCIT) and concluded with a free After5 reception in the exhibit area in cooperation with the Arizona Technology Council. ATIC-CIAC Public Meeting for Post-Summit Strategy and Planning
