ATIC Public Meeting on High-Technology Policy Activities
(February 17, 2005)

The Arizona Telecommunications & Information Council (ATIC) held a Public Meeting on Thursday, February 17, 2005 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM as a free live event and teleconference from the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe. We focused on all the high-technology policy activities underway in Arizona with a distinguished array of invited speakers moderated by John Kelly, Public Affairs Manager for Arizona, Intel Corporation and ATIC Chair including:

ATIC Public Meeting on Advances in Telecom
(April 21, 2005)

The Arizona Telecommunications & Information Council (ATIC) held a Public Meeting on Thursday, April 21 where speakers presented an overview and insights into recent advances in telecom including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), WiMAX broadband wireless, and Broadband over Power Line (BPL).

ATIC is grateful to the University of Advancing Technology (UAT) and Lewis and Roca for hosting this public meeting, to AT&T for sponsoring, to Cox Business Services (CBS) for providing audio conferencing services, and to iLinc Communications for providing web conferencing services.

 

ATIC Public Meeting on Malware & Phishing

The Arizona Telecommunications & Information Council (ATIC) held a Public Meeting on Malware & Phishing on Thursday, June 16 produced by our Cyber Security Committee:

 

ATIC Advanced Telecom and Broadband Deployment in Arizona Roundtable
(October 25-26, 2005)

On October 25-26 ATIC convened the first Arizona Telecom Roundtable. Representatives from the Federal Communications Commission, and Arizona Corporation Commissioners, joined Arizona Telecom Leaders to address broadband deployment to rural and underserved Arizona Communities. The Roundtable included key public and private telecom leaders responsible for county, tribal, regional or statewide telecom initiatives. Over 150 representatives attended from interest groups including Telemedicine, Libraries, Homeland Security, Education, Indian Tribes, Law Enforcement, all levels of government, and Telecom Providers. The purpose of this event was to provide these telecom leaders the opportunity to network, share information and collaborate on the deployment of advanced broadband services to rural and other underserved communities in Arizona. The Roundtable enabled them to identify partners, aggregate demand, and share infrastructure to support their important Arizona initiatives.

ATIC Public Meeting as Strategic Planning Session
(November 17, 2005)

The ATIC Public Meeting held Thursday, November 17 from 2-4PM was an informal strategic planning session following up on our recent successful Arizona Telecom Roundtable on 10/25-56/05. We met to develop specific Arizona Telecom Policy Strategies and Initiatives along with implementation plans. Oris Friesen's Draft Meeting Notes recap the process and outcomes.
