ATIC Arizona Telecom Directory (ATD) Project:
The Arizona Telecom Directory (ATD) is an online portal for locating telecommunication service providers delivering services throughout Arizona. Residential and business users can search for the availability of a wide range of telecom services by location and link to profiles of individual telecom providers, their contact information, and related resources. Supported by a wide-range of industry and economic development organizations, the Arizona Telecom Directory is a unique resource for identifying telecommunications service options and driving economic development activity.
The data used in creating this directory was taken from surveys with the telecom providers and represents a best effort estimation of their service categories and coverage. You should always check with the provider directly to confirm service particulars and availability to your specific location. ATIC and the directory producer, International Research Center, remain committed to adding additional vendors and updating and correcting existing records over time to keep this resource as accurate and current as practical. If you have feedback concerning additional companies and contacts that should be added or corrections to existing records, please contact us at atic@researchedge.com for follow up. Thanks!

Under the plan, expected to be complete in 2002, each of these four businesses will become publicly held, trading as either a common stock or trading stock. On July 9, 2001, AT&T Wireless was split off as an independent, publicly-traded company. ĘSee the ATD profile for AT&T.

WI-VOD Corporation
WI-VOD Corporation "WIreless VOice and Data",
builds wireless broadband voice and data solutions for broadening communities. Small towns aren't so small anymore and rural shouldn't mean being out of touch. That's where WI-VOD comes in. Large cities can be overloaded with options for communications while rural areas suffer from a severe lack of suitable services or no service at all. Most North American highways that join these communities are covered by cellular service, but roaming charges and poor connections can often mean high monthly bills, lost calls and very slow data speeds for downloading emails and information off the web. With WI-VOD's MobileSOHO (Mobile Small Office, Home Office) solution we bring wireless broadband connectivity to your community. See the ATD profile for WI-VOD Corporation.
A number of additional sponsors from industry, government, and the economic development community have also made important contributions of time, resources and money to this Arizona telecom directory project. ATIC gratefully acknowledges the assistance and support provided by:
ATIC ATD Project Acknowledgements:
ATIC developed the concept for this directory as a unique and useful public service a number of years ago. Finally here at the beginning of the new millennium we have brought together the vision and resources to bring it to fruition. It is only through the volunteer efforts of our Board and committee members aided by the generous sponsorship of many other groups and enterprises that the vision has become reality.
This project could not have been realized without the oversight and steadfast support of the ATD Project Committee co-chaired by Brad Tritle of the Government Information Technology Agency (GITA) and Ralph Gierish of Systems Integration & Information Management. They were assisted by a number of other active committee members including:
The Arizona Telecommunications Directory web site was ably designed, prepared, and evolved by ATIC's long-standing web master, Alan Levine of Dommy Media. And the complex database architecture, its implementation, and query capabilities were produced by David Maggiano and Mark Sharkey of PrecisionPros.com aided by Oris Friesen, with his long experience in database computer science.
Screening potential vendors (over 300) and accomplishing the many ATD provider surveys was a long and arduous process largely accomplished by Daryl Mallett and Judi Mead of International Research Center (IRC) as well as Bill Neumann of the University of Arizona (UoA) and his students in Business Communications 307, in particular Ravi Bhat, Danielle Locke, andNeerja Sewak. Additionally, Ralph Gierish of Systems Integration & Information Management worked with George Favela of Qwest Communications on their complex state-wide profile. And Brian Sherman of the Arizona Department of Commerce (ADOC) worked with Curt Huttsell of Citizens Communications to accurately reflect its telecom infrastructure. They all have our sincere and deep gratitude for their persistent and capable efforts.
And special thanks to Randi Weinstein, Technology Reporter, and The Business Journal for their continued interest and coverage in the project helping bring news of it to the Arizona community.
The Arizona Telecommunications and Information Council (ATIC) and all those involved in this project sincerely hope you find this Arizona Telecommunications Directory (ATD) of interest and use in your cyber journeys and that it helps show you the breadth and depth of telecom providers and infrastructure available today right here in our Arizona communities. Arizona remains a great place to live and to connect from in today's global economy. We hope we have been of assistance to you in finding the essential telecom resources you need to continue your journey. Good travels to you!
